2022-2026 CBA Highlights
Wages for a 9-month “Academic Year” appointment
Pay Tiers are eliminated effective January 1, 2023
Before, depending on your field of study, your pay was sorted into three different tier minima:
Arts and Humanities 2022: $19,292
Social Sciences, Education, Business 2022: $20,064
STEM: $20,840
These are now gone and there is base-pay equity for all departments and colleges
As of January 1st, 2023: $24,000
Academic Year 2023-2024: $25,000
Academic Year 2024-2025: $26,000
Academic Year 2025-2026: $27,000
Health Insurance
100% Premium Subsidy for Single-Only coverage remains
25% Premium Subsidy for additional dependents
Leave
Parental Leave: 21 calendar days for the birth or adoption of a child
Bereavement Leave:
Added grandparents to “immediate family” meaning you receive 4 paid days
Added an additional 5 days for international travel
Workload Review Committee
TUGSA and Temple HR are going to co-develop new workload guidelines recommendations
These will be presented to the Provost and, if approved, implemented
Grievance Procedure
Added a meeting at Step 1, allowing faster, more thorough, and more constructive actions through the grievance process
Union Rights
Won additional language, categories, and frequency of university reporting to TUGSA about the bargaining unit
Won access to list of incoming grads
Won more efficient dues processing that allows the union to ensure that dues deductions are accurate and complete
