2022-2026 CBA Highlights

Wages for a 9-month “Academic Year” appointment

  • Pay Tiers are eliminated effective January 1, 2023

    • Before, depending on your field of study, your pay was sorted into three different tier minima:

      • Arts and Humanities 2022: $19,292

      • Social Sciences, Education, Business 2022: $20,064

      • STEM: $20,840

    • These are now gone and there is base-pay equity for all departments and colleges

  • As of January 1st, 2023: $24,000

  • Academic Year 2023-2024: $25,000

  • Academic Year 2024-2025: $26,000

  • Academic Year 2025-2026: $27,000

Health Insurance

  • 100% Premium Subsidy for Single-Only coverage remains

  • 25% Premium Subsidy for additional dependents

Leave

  • Parental Leave: 21 calendar days for the birth or adoption of a child

  • Bereavement Leave:

    • Added grandparents to “immediate family” meaning you receive 4 paid days

    • Added an additional 5 days for international travel

Workload Review Committee

  • TUGSA and Temple HR are going to co-develop new workload guidelines recommendations

  • These will be presented to the Provost and, if approved, implemented

Grievance Procedure

  • Added a meeting at Step 1, allowing faster, more thorough, and more constructive actions through the grievance process

Union Rights

  • Won additional language, categories, and frequency of university reporting to TUGSA about the bargaining unit

  • Won access to list of incoming grads

  • Won more efficient dues processing that allows the union to ensure that dues deductions are accurate and complete
