Life before TUGSA

Prior to TUGSA, Temple University only subsidized $400 per year. At that price, we were only able to afford the bare-bones coverage.

That resulted in:

* High deductibles and high coinsurance
* NO prescription coverage
* Minimal preventative care
* NO dental or vision coverage

But together, we formed TUGSA. Now we have better coverage.

*TOGETHER, we have earned 100% subsidy for three different health care plans. That’s over $300 per month!
These plans include:
* NO deductibles and NO coinsurance
* Prescription drug coverage with affordable co-pays
* Extensive preventative care
* Routine dental and vision coverage
* Prorated subsidies for employees with fractional appointments

That means in 2010, we negotiated a $312 per month healthcare subsidy. That subsidy will increase 10% each year through the 2013-2014 academic year.

Together we were able to do this. TUGSA is all of you. We’re in this together, and together we made this happen.
